At Sage Screen Printing Studio, we know that our industry hasn't always been the greenest. But we're trying to do our part to change that narrative. While we’ve still got plenty of work ahead of us, we’re proud of the steps we’ve taken so far to be more sustainable. Let me share how we're making a difference:
Motion-Detecting Lights
First up, our studio employees motion-sensing lights throughout the building. It might sound simple, but these lights help us save energy by only being on when we need them. It’s a small change that adds up to big savings on our carbon footprint.
Sgreen Washout Booth Filtration System
Next, we’ve got the Sgreen Washout Booth Filtration System. This nifty setup helps us clean our screens more responsibly by filtering out the bad stuff in 6 stages before it hits the water system. It’s all about minimizing waste, being kinder to our environment, moving us a little closer to being a zero waste operation.
Reusing and Recycling Materials
All our shipping boxes get a second life, and those tees that don’t make the final cut? They become handy rags and testers. Even our paper gets reused for scrap and unofficial print-outs. It’s all about making the most of what we have.
Water-Based Glue
Every job we do uses water-based glue. Not only is it better for the environment, but it’s also safer for our team and customers. Plus, it helps keep those nasty emissions at bay. Admittedly, we do use spray adhesive as needed, but we always start with the green choice.
Recycled and Sustainable Fabric Garments
We’re proud to offer eco-friendly clothing made from recycled fabrics and sustainable materials. These options allow our customers to make a positive impact with their choices. Whether it’s organic apparel like a T-shirt made from recycled materials or a hoodie crafted from sustainable fabrics, we’re committed to providing high-quality, eco-friendly products that don’t compromise on style or comfort.
Exploring Soy-Based Chemicals
We’re also on the lookout for more eco-friendly options, like soy-based chemicals. Switching to these could be a game-changer for us and the environment, and we’re excited about the possibilities.
We know we’re not perfect, but we’re committed to doing better every day. It’s a journey, and we’re learning as we go. We’d love to hear your thoughts on how we can continue to improve. What eco-friendly ideas do you think would work well in the screen printing world? Let’s chat and make a difference together!
